Work Description:
My research proposal is about the development of a computational model to predict university dropout. This study is developed in an Ecuadorian public university using data from the institutional computer system. The study attempts to determine which data from the in-person modality, whether performance, demographic or socioeconomic, allow us to predict in advance students at risk of dropping out, as well as obtain a profile of the dropout student.
This study uses Educational Data Mining (EDM), its tools allow us to determine which attributes are most related to the problem, in addition to obtaining an improvement for the data set in order to obtain better prediction results.
