Fabricia Roos-Frantz
I am permanent professor in the Post-graduate Program in Mathematical and Computational Modeling at UNIJUÍ, Brazil. I am also a member of the Applied Computing Research Group (GCA), where I collaborate on interdisciplinary projects that connect computational modeling, software engineering, and intelligent systems.
I hold a Ph.D. in Software Engineering from the University of Seville, Spain (2012), where I earned the distinction of European Doctorate. My academic journey began with a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (2003) and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the Federal University of Pelotas (2000). These experiences shaped my interest in the intersection between software architecture, distributed systems, and computational modeling.
My research focuses on software engineering methodologies, distributed and decentralized systems, and smart city technologies. I am particularly interested in how computational models can support complex environments and improve interoperability among heterogeneous systems. Through my work, I aim to contribute to the development of sustainable and intelligent technological solutions that address real-world challenges.
Before dedicating myself fully to academia, I worked as a software systems analyst at the Brazilian Postal Service (ECT) in Porto Alegre between 2005 and 2006. This professional experience provided me with valuable insights into large-scale software systems and continues to influence my research perspective, especially regarding the practical application of theoretical models.
Over the years, I have participated in several research projects supported by Brazilian funding agencies such as CNPq and CAPES, promoting innovation and international collaboration in computing. My academic activities include supervising graduate students, publishing scientific articles, and contributing to the advancement of computational research in Brazil and abroad.
At UNIJUÍ, I am deeply committed to fostering an environment of collaboration and knowledge exchange. I believe that interdisciplinary approaches are essential for addressing the complex problems of modern society, and I encourage my students and colleagues to explore connections between computer science, mathematics, engineering, and social innovation.
My work reflects a continuous pursuit of excellence in research, teaching, and community engagement. I see computing not only as a technical discipline but also as a means to empower people and improve the world around us.
